Greetings! When most people think of fitness they think gym, eating healthy, and being in shape. What about mental fitness? Keeping the mind sharp and wise? I challenged myself to delete all my social media, Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram uninstalled from my phone. It has been a couple weeks now and I’m excited to say I have been more productive and making positive moves. I am no longer addicted to my phone and I only receive calls and text. To replace my social media apps I have downloaded brain games and an app to help me learn French. Every now and then I want to took at my Facebook page or send a snap, but then I think of something I can do instead. New projects, educational videos on YouTube are things I now do on my free time.
From new adventures and friends to new responsibilities and knowledge. A different perspective has been placed on my eye lids and the world is a much clearer place. Connecting with people in real life is wonderful! Smiling at people and them smiling back is better than 200+ likes on a photo or status. Being in the moment vs. capturing the moment. Being an entertainer vs. being an innovator. Being a selfie vs. becoming a community. Learning about the world around you vs.exploring the world with in you. Experiences and memories will forever be in your heart, while the photos and shares will forever be in your phone. This just goes to say you need balance in your life. Social media is a great way to keep in touch with the world around you, however it should not become your world. Dip your feet in the ocean and dive into the universe this summer the world awaits you! Remember to stay irie ?
