Second Time Camping, EVER!!!

Camping in Santa Rosa, NM

Greetings! Welcome back to the food and fitness network! I recently came back from another adventurous camping trip, from another location in the beautiful state known for its balloon fiestas in the fall. Santa Rosa! The Blue Hole which was on a different turn from the lake. We stayed at a camp site a few feet away from the lake! It was beautiful although the wind picked to where it seemed to be going a million miles an hour we made the best of it.

Note:Bring a tarp) After we set up camp we ate lunch and walked down to the lake. The breeze was nice and light, the water cold and dark, the bugs… EVERYWHERE! (Multiple people told us to bring bug spray. Note:bug spary). Unfortunately we were unable to build a fire that night due to the high fire risk and high winds. As I began to fall asleep the wind howled violently, the walls of the tent slapped my face, but my sleeping bag was warm and the ground soft so I couldn’t complain!   We just hoped the next day the winds would calm down. When we woke up the weather was close to perfect! However we talked to soon when we decided to walk down to the lake the winds picked up yet again, just as strong as before. At that time I decided to leave and head home before it got dark. Even though mother nature was a little moody I had a great time with new friends.
The experience was full of positive energy and no complaining from anyone we just got creative and made the necessary adjustments and it all worked out 🙂
